MOTHER'S DAY EXHIBITION
FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART brings together the works of two artists connected not only through practice, but through a deeply personal, intergenerational bond. Presented at Carita’s Como House Studio, the exhibition explores the enduring presence of the mother as an embodiment of the divine feminine. The works engage with the idea of matriarchal lineage as fluid rather than fixed. Here, in the historical location of Como House and Garden, ancestry is emotional, spiritual, and creative. Threads of connection emerge across generations, revealing how women create, hold, carry, and transform stories over time.
Through material, gesture, and form, the exhibition evokes the sacred and the intimate. It invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences of connection: to mothers, mentors, daughters, and chosen family. In doing so, it honours the women who shape our identity and belonging across time.
This exhibition is an invitation to witness the strength of feminine connection, and to acknowledge the unseen lines that bind us, sustain us, and carry us forward.

Each MuseArt performance begins with two things: silence and an empty canvas.
From that moment, a spontaneous conversation between two artists unfolds. Over the next hour, nationally and internationally collected visual artist/performer Carita Farrer Spencer and award-winning pianist/composer Kym Alexandra Dillon perform a cross-art form improvisation where paint and piano speak together as one.
Because nothing is planned in advance, the artists and the audience share the same sense of discovery as a musical composition and a visual artwork take shape, moment by moment, resulting in a unique shared experience.
THE ARTISTS
Carita Farrer Spencer is an actor, singer, cabaret artist, writer, director and visual artist, with her visual art collected by public, private and corporate clients both in Australia and Internationally. Her multi-hyphenate practise brings a unique narrative and performative dimension to her visual art.
Kym Alexandra Dillon is an award-winning pianist, composer and presenter, active across classical, jazz and contemporary contexts, whose unique path as a musician has led her to cultivating a category-defying artistic career.

COMO ART EXPERIENCES
Once the home of Melbourne's social elite and darlings of the art world, Como House is the perfect location for these premium, creative and immersive art experiences created & hosted by Resident Artist, Carita Farrer Spencer.
‘THE COLLECTIVE CANVAS’
This is premium and unique culinary art experience where guests come together to share in the bespoke menus of Curtis Stone Events, paired with a unique collaborative creative process, lead by Como House resident artist, Carita Farrer Spencer. Instead of a traditional tablecloth the dining table is laid with a professional quality roll of artist canvas and the table centrepiece is adorned with various mark making tools for the guests to explore and play with throughout their dining experience.
Once seated, guests will be welcomed by Carita and given a crash course in abstract expressionism. Carita’s expertise as a performer, host and visual artist creates a joyful, celebratory and expressive environment where guests will be able to relax and thoroughly enjoy immersing themselves in this unique and playful experience. During the event Carita will paint alongside guests, moving around the table bringing the painting and the celebration to life.
Following the event itself, the canvas will be carefully considered, refined and transformed into a valuable, legacy artwork and once completed to Carita’s satisfaction, the canvas will be stretched, framed and delivered ready to hang in the client’s preferred work or home location.
This valuable piece of art will serve as a permanent reminder of the unique spirit of the event and the beauty of coming together.
