COMO HOUSE STUDIO

My art studio is a unique space built for inspiration!

Situated in the re-purposed Coach House within Melbourne’s iconic Como House & Gardens, this beautiful mansion estate built in 1847 overlooks the Yarra (Birrurung) River. Known by many Melbournians as ‘the white house on the hill’, Como is now under the custodianship of The National Heritage Trust and is surrounded by lush gardens and community parkland (on Bunurong Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung land).

The Armytage family, who lived at Como for nearly a century, became famous amongst Melbourne high society and it was the first house museum in Australia acquired with the original contents. Leila Armytage once hailed her home as ‘the last remaining oasis.’  I find its a fabulous place for my work as I frequently draw inspiration from nature and themes of creating an ‘Oasis’.

When visiting Como, you’ll find my studio situated behind the main house and directly opposite ‘Como Lane’ - a stunning new eatery by acclaimed chef Scott Pickett in collaboration with VenuesLive and the heritage trust

We are a friendly bunch at Como, so drop in for a quick coffee, long brunch, a picnic, a wander through the gardens or a guided tour of the mansion.

As I’m not always free to chat and sometimes offsite, please CONTACT me if you wish to make a time to meet in person. If you’re interstate or overseas, send me a message so we can chat online.
